Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control systems including automated dispensing units
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on compliance procedures
- Process insurance claims and handle third-party billing documentation
- Conduct medication reconciliation for high-risk patients
- Maintain HIPAA compliance in all patient interactions and record-keeping
- Coordinate with healthcare providers on prescription verification
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of compounding and sterile preparation techniques
- Exceptional attention to detail in medication verification processes
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume environments
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Associate degree in Pharmacy Technology or related field
