Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in a high-volume retail pharmacy setting
- Manage inventory control and ordering systems to maintain optimal stock levels
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure compliance with all state/federal regulations
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for dispensing and record-keeping
Qualifications
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician license
- Minimum 2 years of retail pharmacy experience
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification required
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and DEA regulations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software
- Basic IV compounding certification preferred
