Responsibilities
- Compound and dispense prescription medications with precision and accuracy
- Maintain inventory control systems and perform pharmaceutical stock audits
- Train and supervise junior pharmacy technicians in daily operations
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations (TACOS, DEA)
- Process insurance claims and manage patient medication profiles
- Collaborate with pharmacists on complex medication therapy protocols
- Implement sterile compounding procedures for IV medications
Qualifications
- Active Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license
- Minimum 3 years of hospital or compounding pharmacy experience
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) or PTCB certification required
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and USP 797 standards
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience with pharmacy management software (Omnicell, QS/1)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and pharmacology
