Responsibilities
- Manage daily pharmacy operations including prescription processing, inventory control, and medication dispensing
- Lead and mentor junior pharmacy technicians while ensuring compliance with FDA and DEA regulations
- Verify prescription accuracy and consult with pharmacists on complex medication orders
- Implement and optimize inventory management systems to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
- Train staff on new technologies and industry best practices in pharmaceutical care
- Handle patient inquiries with empathy and precision while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care coordination
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 3 years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proven leadership experience in a pharmacy setting
- Advanced knowledge of prescription processing systems (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional accuracy in medication dispensing
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure
- Valid Texas Pharmacy Technician license
- Basic understanding of insurance billing and third-party claims processing
