Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications while maintaining strict safety protocols
- Lead inventory management, including controlled substance tracking and order fulfillment
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with pharmacists on patient counseling and medication therapy management
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for prescription processing and record-keeping
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality of patient data
- Manage third-party billing and insurance verification processes
Qualifications
- Active NYS Pharmacy Technician License required
- CPhT (PTCB) certification with minimum 3 years experience
- Proven expertise in sterile compounding and IV admixture preparation
- Advanced knowledge of NYS pharmacy regulations and DEA protocols
- Exceptional attention to detail and medication safety awareness
- Strong leadership skills with experience training pharmacy staff
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic health records
