Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical equipment for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and sterile processing protocols
- Count and track surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps pre/post-procedure
- Train and mentor junior surgical technologists on best practices
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Manage inventory and restock operating room supplies efficiently
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Level 1 trauma or specialty surgical services
- Advanced knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA compliance standards
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgical systems preferred
- Strong leadership skills with ability to mentor and train staff
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to work flexible hours including on-call weekends
