Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments in compliance with AORN standards
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures with precise instrument handling
- Manage surgical equipment sterilization and inventory systems
- Mentor junior surgical technologists and enforce safety protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for OR efficiency
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Level I trauma centers
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular specialties
- BLS and ACLS certifications with current renewal status
- Proficiency in robotic surgical systems (e.g., da Vinci)
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI ST79)
- Proven ability to maintain composure during emergency procedures
- Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field
