Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all surgical instruments are properly maintained
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures including orthopedic, cardiovascular, and neurosurgeries
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce strict aseptic protocols throughout surgical procedures
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Train and mentor junior surgical technologists on advanced techniques
- Implement new surgical technologies and best practices
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Level I trauma center OR environment
- Expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and infection control protocols
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology or related field
- Experience training staff and process improvement initiatives
