Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist patients for examinations, including vital sign measurements and medical history documentation
- Perform clinical tasks including EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication administration under provider supervision
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate patient flow, manage appointment schedules, and handle insurance verification
- Assist providers during procedures and prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (experience with Epic or AthenaHealth preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification and valid North Carolina CNA license
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Medical Assisting preferred
