Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties including taking vital signs, recording medical history, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Assist physicians with minor procedures and examinations as directed.
- Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing (POCT) as required.
- Manage patient intake, including checking patients in, verifying insurance, and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean clinic environment.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and manage prescription refills.
- Provide patient education and answer questions regarding medications and treatments.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is highly preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications are required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first approach.
