Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with clinical procedures
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and phlebotomy with precision
- Manage electronic health records (Epic) and maintain patient confidentiality
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations
- Administer injections and medications under provider supervision
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR certification (BLS)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in cardiology or primary care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Louisiana MA certification or eligibility
