Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tests
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintain accurate documentation
- Administer medications and immunizations under provider supervision
- Coordinate patient education materials and post-visit care instructions
- Assist with front desk operations including scheduling and billing coordination
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
- Current CPR certification and medical assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Tennessee state medical assistant license (if applicable)
