Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Accurately document patient information in EMR systems following HIPAA protocols
- Administer medications, injections, and perform EKGs as directed
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and sterilize equipment
- Coordinate patient flow between exam rooms and ancillary departments
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Assist with billing coding and insurance verification processes
Qualifications
- Current California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Spanish bilingual skills highly desirable
- Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program
