Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with clinical procedures
- Accurately document patient information in EMR systems
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and basic lab tests
- Administer injections and medications per physician orders
- Coordinate patient education materials and discharge planning
- Maintain sterile exam rooms and medical equipment
- Support front desk operations including scheduling and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a multi-specialty setting
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Basic EKG and phlebotomy certification
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
