Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication administration
- Manage patient records using EMR systems ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals, lab work, and appointment scheduling
- Support emergency response protocols and triage protocols
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in venipuncture, ECG, and basic laboratory procedures
- BLS/CPR certification and knowledge of OSHA protocols
- Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Experience with Epic or similar EMR systems
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent required
