Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and administer medications as directed
- Perform diagnostic tests including EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care lab work
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR/BLS certification and Missouri MA certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a cardiology or specialty practice
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic experience a plus)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
