Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures, including patient examinations, injections, and EKGs
- Perform vital signs measurements and document patient histories accurately
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring data integrity and HIPAA compliance
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory of medical supplies
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively between departments
- Administer medications under provider supervision and perform phlebotomy
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certificate from accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) and NY state license
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory or hospital setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- CPR/BLS certification from recognized provider
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
