Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examination.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
- Assist Providers: Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and supplies; assist providers during procedures.
- Admin Support: Manage medical records, schedule appointments, and handle incoming calls efficiently.
- Lab Work: Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with point-of-care testing.
- Medication Management: Verify patient medication lists and prepare medications for administration under provider supervision.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy office environment.
- Interpersonal: Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
