Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Take vital signs, measure patient weight, and record medical histories accurately to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform basic laboratory tests, administer injections and medications as directed, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient intake, update electronic health records (EHR), and schedule appointments efficiently.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and medical staff, ensuring clear communication of test results and treatment plans.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, sanitized environment in exam rooms and follow strict infection control protocols.
- Assistance: Provide direct patient care support during procedures and assist nurses with wound care and other treatments.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order medical supplies and equipment as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or similar credentials.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Skills: Strong computer literacy with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.) and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal: Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with diverse patient populations.
- Professionalism: High standards of ethical behavior and patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
