Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient intakes, including obtaining vital signs, weight, height, and documenting medical history accurately.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and ensure strict adherence to sterilization and infection control protocols.
- Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing (POCT).
- Manage patient flow efficiently to minimize wait times and enhance the overall patient experience.
- Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding follow-up care and prescription refills.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or equivalent is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- 1-3 years of clinical experience in a physician office or ambulatory setting preferred.
- Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
