Responsibilities
- Perform clinical procedures including vital signs, EKGs, injections, and wound care under physician supervision
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain sterile environments for patient procedures
- Assist with electronic health records (EHR) documentation and patient scheduling
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers
- Coordinate patient flow between departments and communicate with specialists
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment for clinical areas
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
- Spanish bilingual preferred for diverse patient population
