Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with exam gowns, drapes, and positioning.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and personal information for each patient.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, administer injections, and draw blood as directed by the physician.
- Coordinate patient flow, manage appointment schedules, and verify patient insurance information.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment in accordance with OSHA and HIPAA standards.
- Assist providers during procedures and provide patient education on medication and aftercare instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or MA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and medical software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when necessary.
