Responsibilities
- Perform routine vital signs, medical history reviews, and patient screenings.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare patients for exams and ensure exam rooms are sanitized and fully stocked.
- Manage patient records and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
- Administer injections and assist with phlebotomy as needed.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and communicate effectively with patients and insurance providers.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification from the American Red Cross or AHA is required.
- Strong computer proficiency with EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required for some on-site roles).
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screen.
