Responsibilities
- Perform vital signs measurements and preliminary patient assessments
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and examinations
- Administer medications and immunizations under provider supervision
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize medical equipment
- Facilitate patient flow and coordinate appointment scheduling
- Collect and process laboratory specimens
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medications
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in ambulatory or hospital setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or NextGen preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification (must be current)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings/weekends
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Valid North Carolina driver's license for travel between facilities
