Responsibilities
- Perform vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and record accurate patient data.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Administer injections, draw blood (phlebotomy), and perform EKGs as required.
- Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR) and document patient interactions professionally.
- Greet patients, verify insurance information, and ensure a positive patient intake experience.
- Handle prescription refills and coordinate specialist referrals.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Current State of Tennessee Medical Assistant license or ability to obtain one.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a busy medical office or clinic setting.
- Strong computer proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
