Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, verify demographic information, and prepare them for examinations.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers during patient visits, including taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and preparing examination rooms.
- Procedures: Perform basic laboratory tests, point-of-care testing, and assist with phlebotomy as required.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage patient charts, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification and billing inquiries.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict sterilization and hygiene standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Communication: Clearly communicate test results and treatment plans to patients and physicians, ensuring all questions are answered.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient interactions and clinical notes into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Licensure: Active Michigan Medical Assistant license or equivalent state licensure.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting preferred.
- Emergency Care: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
- Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Adaptability: Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
