Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, vitals, and medical history assessments with accuracy and empathy.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor medical treatments.
- Perform phlebotomy and EKG procedures safely and efficiently.
- Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare laboratory specimens and manage inventory of medical supplies.
- Schedule patient appointments, manage calls, and handle insurance verification.
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or ambulatory setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain complex medical concepts to patients.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
