Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient intake, including recording medical history and vital signs.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and minor surgical procedures.
- Manage patient flow efficiently to minimize wait times and ensure optimal care.
- Process laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests.
- Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and maintaining electronic health records (EHR).
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or ambulatory setting.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying shift requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant degree or diploma preferred.
