Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform routine vital signs, medical history reviews, and prepare patients for examination by providers.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Lab Procedures: Collect and process blood samples, urine samples, and perform other basic lab tests as directed by physicians.
- Assistance: Assist providers during procedures, prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments, and maintain a clean environment.
- Communication: Clearly communicate test results and treatment plans to patients and answer general health-related inquiries.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and strong computer literacy.
- Attributes: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient confidentiality and empathy.
