Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical history, and recording information in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Assist physicians and nurses during exams, procedures, and treatments as directed.
- Administer injections, medications, and vaccines following strict safety protocols.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, urinalysis, and EKGs, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort.
- Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and answering patient inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile environment in treatment rooms and common areas.
- Document patient encounters accurately and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHR) such as Epic or Athenahealth.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.
