Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare patient charts for the provider.
- Clinical Duties: Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, and administer EKGs as directed by physicians.
- Lab Processing: Collect and process laboratory specimens accurately and timely according to safety protocols.
- Administrative Support: Schedule appointments, handle phone inquiries, and maintain accurate medical records.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to sterilization and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or NCMA preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
