Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers with clinical procedures
- Accurately document patient information in EHR systems and maintain confidential medical records
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic lab tests following established protocols
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers
- Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, sanitized, and compliant with OSHA standards
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask effectively
- Pennsylvania state medical assistant license (if required)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including occasional weekends
