Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Administration: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and maintain accurate medical records in our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Clinical Duties: Assist physicians and nurses with examinations, prepare examination rooms, and perform vital signs, EKGs, and basic lab tests.
- Phlebotomy: Draw blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis with precision and care.
- Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Appointment Management: Schedule patient appointments, send reminders, and handle incoming calls professionally.
- Health Education: Educate patients on preventative care, medications, and wellness programs to improve patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic EKG certification required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
