Responsibilities
- Perform Clinical Duties: Assist providers with patient exams, take vitals, record medical histories, and prepare patients for procedures.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient intake, verify insurance information, and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately.
- Lab Procedures: Collect and process blood samples, perform EKGs, and assist with basic lab tests as required.
- Patient Communication: Greet patients warmly, answer questions regarding medications and appointments, and provide instructions for follow-up care.
- Inventory Management: Maintain a clean and organized exam room, restock supplies, and manage medical inventory.
- Coordination: Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and assist with patient flow to ensure a smooth clinic experience.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred, but entry-level candidates with strong training are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and computer software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
