About The Role:
As a Medical Assistant, you will be the bridge between our patients and our medical providers. You will ensure that every patient feels welcomed, understood, and cared for from the moment they walk through the door.
Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for examination by assisting with exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and arranging exam tables.
- Vital Signs & History: Accurately take and record vital signs, medical history, and symptoms to ensure the physician has complete information.
- Procedural Assistance: Assist physicians and nurses during examinations, procedures, and minor surgical interventions.
- Phlebotomy & Admin: Perform venipuncture and basic laboratory tests, as well as handle front desk reception duties, scheduling, and insurance verification.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider and document administration accurately.
- Record Keeping: Maintain and update patient medical records and charts in compliance with HIPAA and company protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification preferred).
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty setting is preferred.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex medical information clearly to patients and staff.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Reliability: Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking in a busy clinic setting.
