Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vitals, medical history, and symptoms during intake.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform basic clinical duties including phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.
- Administrative Support: Manage electronic health records (EHR), schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a clean, sterile environment and strictly adhere to OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Assist Providers: Prepare examination rooms and assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient visits.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or equivalent certification required.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record systems (Epic, Athenahealth, etc.).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant diploma or degree preferred.
