Responsibilities
- Perform vital sign measurements, patient intake, and basic triage to ensure accurate health records.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, sterile environment.
- Manage administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and verifying insurance information.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider as required by state law.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when assisting patients.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Adherence to HIPAA regulations and strict patient confidentiality standards.
