Responsibilities
- Perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the practice running smoothly, including greeting patients, answering phones, and managing patient check-ins.
- Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable and professional environment.
- Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical equipment and supplies, adhering to strict sterilization protocols.
- Perform phlebotomy and EKG procedures as required by the department.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) by updating patient charts, documenting visits, and ensuring data accuracy.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, follow-up care, and preventative health measures.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is strongly preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Strong computer proficiency with experience in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Compliance with all HIPAA regulations and hospital/clinic policies.
