Responsibilities
- Perform patient intakes, including obtaining vital signs, medical history, and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and patient comfort.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment according to strict safety protocols.
- Administer injections, perform basic lab tests, and assist with phlebotomy as needed.
- Manage front desk duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance coverage.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies at all times.
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) or equivalent.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting.
- Strong computer proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
