Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations by reviewing medical history and current complaints.
- Vitals & Admin: Accurately measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Labs & Phlebotomy: Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws following strict safety protocols; prepare samples for laboratory analysis.
- Assisting Providers: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Telehealth Support: Manage patient intake for virtual visits and ensure medical records are updated in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock exam rooms, medical supplies, and medications to ensure readiness.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; current CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting is required.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Skills: Proficient in phlebotomy, EKG administration, and EMR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet patient demand.
