Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and medical histories accurately.
- Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and medications.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalysis, adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including insurance verification and co-pays.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Document patient interactions and treatment plans into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a clinical or ambulatory care setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, or similar) is a plus.
