Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vitals, medical history, and updating charts.
- Assist providers during exams and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks including phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians and following strict protocols.
- Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and examination rooms to ensure infection control standards.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide education regarding treatment plans and medications.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Athenahealth.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
