About the Role:
As a Medical Assistant at CityCare, you will be the face of our practice. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality care in a friendly and professional setting.
Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for examination by assisting with gowns, drapes, and positioning while maintaining patient dignity and privacy.
- Vital Signs & Triage: Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
- Lab & Procedures: Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications as directed, and perform EKGs when necessary.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient flow, update medical records, and schedule appointments using our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Infection Control: Maintain a clean and organized treatment room, strictly adhering to hygiene and sterilization protocols.
- Communication: Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care instructions clearly and empathetically.
Qualifications
- Education: Certificate or Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification: Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred; strong candidates with equivalent experience will be considered.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Language: Fluency in English is required; Spanish language skills are highly desirable.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
