Responsibilities
- Assist Providers: Prepare patients for exams and assist physicians and nurse practitioners during medical procedures.
- Vital Signs & Measurements: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Phlebotomy & Injections: Perform venipuncture and administer injections as directed by healthcare providers.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient records, update Electronic Health Records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Patient Communication: Greet patients warmly, answer phones, and ensure a smooth patient intake process.
- Infection Control: Maintain a clean, sterilized, and organized clinical environment following strict OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
- Lab Processing: Collect, label, and process laboratory specimens in accordance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; current CMA, RMA, or MA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in phlebotomy, EKG, and Electronic Health Records software (Epic, AthenaHealth, or similar).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Reliability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
