Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals and obtain comprehensive medical histories.
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with history taking and rooming.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and phlebotomy (blood draws) as required.
- Manage front-desk operations, including scheduling appointments and answering phones.
- Update and maintain accurate patient medical records in the EHR system.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Ensure the examination rooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic) is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
