Responsibilities
- Perform patient intakes, including vital signs, medical history reviews, and insurance verification.
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and privacy.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical instruments and supplies.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians and within scope of practice.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens (phlebotomy) accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate patient follow-ups and schedule appointments via electronic health records (EHR).
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients and staff.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation.
