Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and accurately verify insurance information to ensure seamless check-in processes.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
- Prepare and maintain accurate medical records, including updating patient charts and documenting vital signs.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as EKGs, blood draws, and urinalysis, following strict safety protocols.
- Administer injections, vaccinations, and medications under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Coordinate patient schedules, manage appointment reminders, and facilitate a smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Provide patient education regarding medication, diet, and preventative care to improve health outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
- Strong proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, such as Epic or AthenaHealth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
