Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by escorting them to exam rooms, taking vitals, and reviewing medical history.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations by preparing instruments and handing them over.
- Perform basic medical tests, including EKGs, spirometry, and phlebotomy.
- Manage patient records by updating and maintaining electronic health records (EHR) accurately.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the provider, following all safety protocols.
- Coordinate laboratory services and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Greet patients warmly and manage front-desk administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CMAA) or graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information to patients clearly.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
