Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, vitals monitoring, and medical history collection with accuracy and empathy.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain protocols, and ensure patient comfort and privacy.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as directed by licensed providers.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate diagnostic testing, schedule follow-up appointments, and facilitate laboratory specimens.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- Valid New York State Medical Assistant license is mandatory.
- CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Strong computer proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical information clearly to patients.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when assisting patients.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required for high-potential candidates.
