Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake, vitals monitoring, and medical history collection with accuracy and empathy.
  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain protocols, and ensure patient comfort and privacy.
  • Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as directed by licensed providers.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) and complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate diagnostic testing, schedule follow-up appointments, and facilitate laboratory specimens.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
  • Valid New York State Medical Assistant license is mandatory.
  • CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Strong computer proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical information clearly to patients.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when assisting patients.
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required for high-potential candidates.
