Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intake, including recording medical history and current symptoms, with high accuracy.
- Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and prepare patients for examination.
- Assist providers during clinical procedures, including phlebotomy, injections, and minor office surgeries.
- Prepare examination rooms and medical equipment, strictly adhering to sterilization and infection control protocols.
- Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately and ensure strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Coordinate patient appointments, manage prescription refills, and triage incoming patient calls.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor for adverse reactions.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- High school diploma or GED; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a multi-specialty medical office setting.
- Strong proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
